A fire that broke out shortly after 7 pm in a wooded area west of the Thrasyvoulos stadium in the Municipal Community of Fili was immediately contained.
The fire brigade and the Municipality of Fylis immediately intervened and limited the spread of the fire in the ravine.
50 firefighters with 13 vehicles, 2 aircraft and 2 helicopters are operating at the scene, while water tankers and fire engines from the Municipality of Fylis also participated in the extinguishing.
The deputy mayors of Civil Protection and Tribes Michalis Oikonomakis and Eleni Liakou, Municipal Councilor Stamatis Serepas and Stavros Katsilas were on the scene from the first minutes of the fire.
The forces of the fire department and the Municipality remain at the scene.
